Lookin at the third picture down, is that St Saviours church, Oxton on the horizon? If it is I didnt realise you could see it from that side of the hill. There must be fantastic views from the top.
I think that church is Christchurch (sic) on the corner of Bessborough Road and Christchurch Road - Oxton Village way..... Don't know why St Saviours is not visible - it is at least as high up as Christchurch - if not quite a bit higher !!!
Can confirm that St Saviours is very visible from the other side of the hill - even from the car park of the 'Arrowe'!.
Yes Derek - definitely Christchurch. I used to live in the right hand flat of that light coloured block of Georgian houses on Slatey Road - see the top flat which has had modern windows added to the side and looks very posh.
When I lived there the two right hand houses were flats and the exterior walls painted a horrible olive green !!!
Er ..... Christchurch has a bloomin' great spire not a square tower. Try Oxton St Saviours!!!
