put a pic up of the awkward part of stairs and sofa
May be better suggestions
there's a knack for getting round bends
stand sofa on its end and get it in such a way as to lift one stair at a time

Katrina - it's not my flat so it's easier to take the spindles and hand rail out, plus I'm on the second floor  Derek - it's not the bend so much as the ceiling bit of my landing that is the sticking point. Chris - I'll see you shortly  Hope the arm's not too sore.

Mr Landlord has given the go ahead for the removal of the banister etc so happy days

I have no intention of moving Despite the fact I have some odd ball neighbours, I love it here. Just need to get it sorted, finish decorating and get carpet for the spare room
