Police investigation after body of Wirral man is found in River Mersey POLICE are trying to trace the last movements of a Wirral man whose body was found in the River Mersey.The body of 33-year-old Kevin Rowlands from Rock Ferry was recovered from the water near the Eastham Oil Terminal on Wednesday afternoon.
An investigation is currently underway to establish how his body came to be in the river.
Police say Kevin was last seen at 9.30am that day by his brother. It is known that Kevin frequents the Wallasey area.
Detective Inspector Anne Rannard said: "We are keen to account for Kevin's movements since he was last seen in Rock Ferry on Wednesday.
"Anyone who may have seen or heard from him in that time, or anyone who may be able to help us to establish how and where he entered the river are asked to come forward to assist us with our enquiries."
Kevin was found wearing white trainers, blue denim jeans, a beige coloured t-shirt with the word Diesel across the front and back and a light coloured Nike tracksuit jacket with thick blue stripes down each sleeve.
He is approximately 5ft 4 ins tall and of slim build with receding shaved brown hair and unshaved facial hair.
