![[Linked Image]](http://photos.autoexpress.co.uk/images/front_picture_library_UK/dir_631/car_photo_315991_7.jpg) It’s official - an even hotter version of Honda’s screeching Civic Type R is on the way! The new model, being developed by Honda’s official tuning arm, Mugen, should be instantly recognisable, with extra cooling vents in the bonnet, a large rear wing and fresh wheels. Exact details on the mechanicals remain scarce, but the engine will be a tuned version of the standard Type R’s 2.0 VTEC. This promises 237bhp, so 0-60mph in less than six seconds and a 155mph top speed are likely. Stiff suspension, a sportier bodykit and stripped-out cabin also feature. A price of £35,000-£40,000 is being hinted at. The Type R MUGEN will be aimed at track day fans, and buyers will get huge scope to personalise their car. A retro-fit option for the existing Civic Type R could follow.

I think only people with special needs would spend that much on a Honda Civic.
I would much rather buy an import JDM Civic Type R-R.

The rear spoiler may look nice from that angle, but given the profile of the car, I think it will look shit from any other angle.

It looks like the spoiler on the Impreza/MG ZT/Alfa Romeo. It totally ruins what is a nice looking car.

I think mugen should spend more time going faster then looking stupid.
I really like cars like this. Special limited run cars based on the top end car. Its been going on for years, like modified cars from the factory, and personally i think it helps the aftermarket industry get a better reputation for itself, as not everyone in the aftermarket scene wants big bodykits and oversized wheels, some like it subtle but distinct aswell.
I HATE cars.

No, that's the fake carbon fibre effect making it go faster. It's lighter.

Instead of spending time on silly spoilers and pointless holes on the bonnet, why dont they follow the aftermarket route and whop a big fat supercharger on there? The F20C's are making over 500bhp comfortably on stock internals. Imagine that in a civic.
I HATE cars.
