Wirral Archives Service Cheshire Lines Building Canning Street Birkenhead Wirral CH41 1ND More on the website link below http://www.wirral.gov.uk/LGCL/100009/200062/606/content_0001781.html The staff were brilliant, couldnt do enough to help there also giving out free tickets for an event at Birkenhead park Pavillion this saturday. The staff offered to photocopy old maps planning applications and alterations to old buildings (in drawings) I even saw some drawings of alterations to bygone theatres. 5 members of staff helped me with my research, very helpfull and facinating look back at how things used to be. Price = Free.

Check its not in Peel Holdings way ! Funny you should mention that, I was chatting to a developer in Birkenhead the other day, the current peel plan goes all the way from Woodside to Eastham. If there is anything you want to remember in that stretch, it may be a good time to get the camera out. Even the Land Registry and the Child Support Agency buildings may not be spared in the long term.
