I was up there myself earlier today and came to the same conclusion Robbo.
Entrance no 2 or the Bow rd exit need a good looking at again.

anyone got any photos from when they were built The story goes that because of the war anyone with a camera was taking pictures of bombed houses for the insurance companies. And with the Tunnels being classed as Military then there isnt much chance to be fair were really going to have to rely on a member of the public having a random pic.

hello all. i remember someone mentioning the lennox lane exit. indeed it is behind the bungalow on the corner of the lane. it was to accomodate bidston village, but was never finished. it looks like the other entrances.

i was down the tunnels a couple of days ater the police had opened them up. went in on my own. came out with a bad stomach. spoke to a few people in work and i was told there has been a methane problem in there for many years. most of my photos have turned out with a hazy mist around them.

the tunnel which is between the two entrances was known as the t.cave. it was shaped like a letter T. it only went in 5-8metres, turned left and right for about 2-3m and turned again for a 1m. i beleive this would have been for the airraid warden.

has anyone ever noticed that above(on top) the two entrances there is old metal bars sticking out of the sandstone. does anyone know what these were for? has anyone got any info on the tank that was excavated next to number two entrance. any info would be appreciated.

does any one know anything about the ghost down there? a chap i spoke to said him and his mates witnessed it years ago. upon inspection of my photos the face of a ghost can be seen in 3 photos all taken in diffrent locations. i dont know how to put them up cause it keeps saying photo size too big.

i think it was the kids. the council only leaned the metal sheet against the sandstone and back filled with soil. under the concrete is still hollow and accessable.
