Recently, well just earlier zonealarm did its usual scan and found this "virus" (Trojan horse psw.Generic4.jow) so i started to scan it with spyware Doctor and the same "virus" is detectedagain. So after all that i did a final scan using Avg free an it came up again. I did all that heal and quarantine but not done any more scans to see if it wud be still there. Toshiba NotebookSo i did a google seach an it sed to be related to a Toshiba Notebook, it seems like its a recent thing that has just pop'd up as i was looking at the dates of the posts from the forums. They were of today (23-05-2007) or few days old. It seems that it is said to link to the Toshiba Configfree. Here are the file names: "cfdemo scr" and "A0021835.scr"It is said that it could be a "false positive" but no one knows so far so is not confirmed. So if anyone who has a Toshiba Notebook you might receive one of these alert if not then its all good. Here are the forums that i received the information from: Link 1 Link 2 If anyone knows what this is tho and knows how it can be fixed please post upAs it is said to be linked to a Toshiba Notebook it probably wont cause a problem as i will quote from one of the forums from the links above. I believe you that your antivir application shows this alert box but Toshiba designed tools and utilities definitely are not dangerous for the system. Hundred thousands of notebooks contain those files and everything work OK.

Trojan horse I shouldn't worry only being connected to the internet can a Trojan horse do what it wants to do and that is open a back door for someone. Its not listed? Seems to tell me that its only you lol.. Like me the other month i had a critical error after a windows update and found it only to effect my type of graphics card. Visit AGV web site for announcements. Any rapidly spreading virus you can always check in the main Digital will page as i have a Norton Top ten. Click Me Dont worry mate i'm sure its what it says a False alarm. You don't always get the best results with free software.

You don't always get the best results with free software. Hmmm you dont often get the best results with many paid software's either (unless one happens to have Nod32). And fyi, AVG free is actually paid software, its exactly the same as AVG 7.5 paid software except it doesnt have technical support and doesnt have additional features like anti-spyware and anti-spam etc... And on the basis of that, AVG 7.0 (which is now 7.5) is an extremely good anti-virus, ranking above most others in the AV Comparatives tests and ICSA tests, the industry testing standards. The one good thing AVG has over almost every other antivirus I know (bar maybe Panda and Nod32) is it has a really small memory footprint and isnt intrusive in what you do. Its fine for an antivirus to be running on your system, but its no good if it starts using tens of megabytes of system RAM and loading the CPU, which a LOT of modern antivirii seem do, and which Nod32, being recommended as the best on the market, has proved there isnt any need for at all.

Got this toshiba notebook not long and things start coming up not impressed, lets hope its nothing to worrie about tho. Gona try an install another anti-virus and see how that goes as everyone on the forum from the links is using Avg-free.

If ya lookin to buy another one, get Nod32 - you wont regret it! If ye gonna buy an antivirus theres no point in wasting money on anything else. Theres a 30 day free trial and then its £23.00 per year. www.nod32.com
