I need an old metro (boxy one) for a 6R4 project im starting. It must be the old type (up to G reg) pref with T&T. I've got most of the parts for the conversion, body kit, engine, mid mountable gearbox ect... But no car to put it in. I'm desperate to start. Wouldn't you like to see a car like this at one of the meets: Any help would be muchly appriciated. Paul.

yes mate, mine is H reg, will that do? As Dazza said it has no tax or MOT, and only needs a tiny bit of welding in the back, but get in touch.

I've never seen a rover metro 6R4, but might be worth a try.

Do a light transplant to the older style lights and put a private plate on it? might make it look like the origional then rather than the newer rover shape one

They used the engines from a -gulp- XJ220 (without forced induction).

I recon they should of used forced induction lol
I have seen these things race de-restricted R1 motorbikes and give them a run for their money. 0 - 60 times of less than 3 seconds is possible.
I was reading up on them once, and they were actually going to scrap plans for the metro 6r4 and build a maestro 6r4 as they were bigger and could handle the power better.
Fair play to you, if you build this you will, IMO, have the best modded car about.
