Does anyone have information about the stone-face water fountain on Poulton Hall Road?

The structure isn't very old at all it was built in 2011 to rectify the aftermath of a car accident. Prior to that the notice board for All Saints Church Thornton Hough was in this location with a fence and woodland, the notice board was moved right to accommodate the fountain.
The design was by Fisher-German, it is owned by Poulton Hall Estate.

Hi DD, thanks for the info on that, do you know if there was a spring there at any point? Or was the fountain entirely piped or simply decorative?

Hi DD, thanks for the info on that, do you know if there was a spring there at any point? Or was the fountain entirely piped or simply decorative? There doesn't appear to be any records of water on that side of the road, prior to its existence it was just a woody embankment the same as either side. My first guess was that they used a ram pump or flow feed from the Clatter Brook on the other side of the road but boring or culverting across the road would be quite an undertaking. So I guess it might be fed from the pond in the middle of the field 100m away, or there might have a been a tap nearer still in the corner of one of the fields for use on the farmland.
