are grit bins still a thing? not sure I've seen one for years. Used to be one around the corner from me and its gone.

There have been new grit bins arrive now and then when somebody moans loud enough but as you say, some appear to fade away.
They are only filled once a year but I presume in extended frozen conditions some sort of top up would happen if necessary.

Just found out no bins will be emptied until 9th January. That's any colour! If not emptied today, must take bins back in!
