yes, I did work at that Pipe Cleaner factory but cant recall name. It was very dangerous and you had to keep your wits about you, the machines (I operated 3) had uncovered spinning very sharp blades, which we had to keep sharpened with stones, that cut the yarn as it was caught by the twisting wires. Then I would run up to Lloyds corner for the 3 or 5 bus home.

The John Brierley website says they purchased it later than 66/67. Their timeline has it at 1976. John L Brierley purchased the only other pipe cleaner manufactured in the country (in Wallasey) called Hewitt and Booth Ltd. https://www.johnlbrierley.com/about-us/
