Louise Ellman has resigned !

At least she has had the guts to say why, and she does not intend to join another political party , unlike many others.

Good on her, for being so honest.

Most of them change their beliefs and politics like a pair of socks, anything to stay on the gravy train.

Think she was told to go to make way for someone younger, she is 73 after all . At least she's got her golden ticket for appearance fees and expenses for going to the House of Lords, plus an M.P's pension and the old age pension! Luckier than most!

Welcome Dougiem.

Yes, I suppose you are right, although I heard she is now going to be an ' Independent '.
I must admit, I think she has been one of the more genuine and dedicated MP's, from the old school.

Nothing has been so dismal, so ugly and yet so downright predictable as the open sewer of responses on Twitter to Louise Ellman's resignation.

From the Party's woeful response, to the NEC youth rep questioning commitment & values of an MP 55 years a member.

Nothing has been so dismal, so ugly and yet so downright predictable as the open sewer of Lousie Ellman's reason for resigning,

If she wants to play political manipulation through lies, she is going to get it back.

Just remind me of how many anti-Semitic prosecutions there have been again?

When the Israelis were pounding Gaza to smithereens in January 2009 there was nothing -- nothing -- that this woman couldn't justify or excuse.

On twitter but its relevant.

Not enough, because of the way Formby behaved:

A criminal prosecution has little to do with what Formby did or did not delete.

Hard to prosecute though when someone is deleting evidence isn't it?

You can be as smug as you like, but Labour will get their just desserts eventually, although they're being consistently punished at the polls as people desert them.

The Tory party is far more renowned and measured as being anti-Semitic than the Labour party but you won't find the MSM bleating on about the Tory party because they are bribed not to.

It is highly unlikely that deleting an email locally has deleted any evidence it is also questionable whether the email concerned would be the primary evidence anyway.

The Labour party are not the police, anti-Semitism is illegal and is a police matter, the Labour party should not be investigating criminal matters, nor should anybody report it to the Labour party without also reporting it to the police.

As you have chosen to throw a personal comment at me, I will take that as an admission of defeat.

Ah, resorting to whataboutism. Good comeback.

Its that "head in the sand" attitude that you, your fellow Corbyn supporters and Corbyn himself are the reason why with the worst Tory government in recent times that Labour still can't get ahead in the polls and they're continuing to lose support, especially with the antisemitism deniers the party seems to have, or the hate spouted when great party members - like Frank Field - do something to upset the mob mentality of Momentum and co.

Compare this to the mid 90s when the Conservatives were imploding. Labour support just went up and up until that great day in 1997.

When you're in danger of being overtaken by the Lib Dems - a party just a few years ago punished for being in a coalition with the Tories - it doesn't take a genius to know there's something wrong with Labour. And it all stems back to its weak fence-sitting leader.

I'm not sure where you got those figures, but on the Comres site they show as this:

Con 33% -
Lab 29% +2
LD 18% -
Brex 12% -
Green 4% -
SNP 4% -
UKIP <1% -
Other 1% -1

I don't think any of these polls can be believed. How do we know whether they are rigged or not ? They vary considerably . Here's one from the BBC on 25th.

I see that Anna Soubry's party has no support. Hardly surprising and Tony Blair tying to split the vote !

https://politicaluk.co.uk/2019/10/t...4r3sFuID_AuI2w8O6-W8g24Ji_kpaGTZ0prWPfuE
Tony Blair has spoken out time and time again against Nigel Farage’s no-deal Brexit calls, but in a recent interview, he appears to prove Brexiteer claims right when it comes to a no-deal.

Voters who back a no-deal do so because they want absolute and complete control of UK affairs and do not wish to be locked and linked to the EU
Blair confirmed that to achieve this, a no-deal Brexit is the only approach to take.

Footage of the former Prime Minister providing Brexiteers right has received more than 50,000 views in less than 24 hours.

Blair said: “Nigel Lafarge has produced one of the better analysis as to what the problem is with Boris Johnson’s deal. The problem, in the end, is if you really want to diverge on tax and regulation and go your own way in issues to do with trade.

“If you really want that, the only way you’re going to get that is actually by doing no-deal. If you do a deal with Europe, they’re going to bolt you down as we’ve just seen in relation to Northern Ireland.”

However, one Twitter user warned that Blair could be trying to split the pro-leave vote in the upcoming general election.
