I purchased one of these for my mum.
I was so impressed I got one for my self.
* its easier than I thought to pair up a wireless plug and get google to turn it on or off via voice commands.
If i get time i will describe how to do this.
For now enjoy the following list of commands.

SET A TIMER : Asks How Long -
CANCEL TIMER : (The Timer sounds nice and loud on Mini).

SET AN ALARM FOR 6PM TODAY / TOMORROW
A reminder is not as loud as a Alarm so don't use for Turing off the oven use a TIMER instead. A reminder would also be sent to your phone.
A reminder is not saved in your calendar. Use Add to Calendar.

How to set up a google mini ?
Following the instructions.
1. Download google home to your phone apple & android.
2. Launch the app.
3. Train you voice in seconds.
4. Thats it....
To play music via google play or spotify.
Update the settings in the Google Home App and select the Music default.
To control lights or sockets via google mini.
Purchase a compatible plug or similar. These can be purchased from e-bay for about £10 each.
The wireless plug will come with an app, you use the app to connect to the plug via wireless connection using your home wifi to connect and control. Enter you home wifi into the plug app. Once that's done you can then add the device vial the Home app on your phone, and then say "Google Lights off" or this year is was "OK GOOGLE Christmas tree lights ON" and off lol.
Be sure you have a compatible brand.

You can also play music from YouTube on a tablet once you have paired them up. Don't forget that every command you give it leaves it on your phone. You will have to go to google home on your phone and check My activity.

Just another quick one, my grandchildren had a great time asking it to tell them a
joke. That last one should have read play YouTube music from a tablet as an extra speaker.
