I am getting pretty bored of this scandal, don't know about others? It is vile and very wrong what he's accused of and before I get shot down I think he's a horrible repugnant character! The thing is this is Hollywood and the movie business and thus sort of behavior has been going on since well forever really, casting couch and all that..women have had to decide if they want something are they prepared to pander to the what is expected. Marilyn Monro who I love was no saint and got where she was with her sexuality.Alfred Hitchcock was a sexual predator and apparently terrorised Tippi Hendron with his advances. Another very old actor Fatty Arbuckle actually killed a young starlet doing the deed. Let's face it there have been many movies about the subject...Some of the things I have heard , he touched my breast, he invited me to his room, ho groped me, really! A very powerful sexual predator Hollywood Director, sorry it's always gone on and especially in that business.. I think it's all going OTT and too sensationalized. I'll finish by saying I am glad he's outed and will get what's coming to him but really!!!!

I totally agree with you Cools. He is vile but they all allowed him to be to better their careers. Now I think as always we are going to see the usual flood of jumping on the bandwagon merchants. One woman I seen who claimed she was groped by him when she was just 17 was then shown happily being photographed with him many years later.

The true victims of him are the ones that stood up to him and lost their careers not the ones that put up with it for fear of losing their careers and now want to out him when it is too late.

A horrible man, who deserves to be punished as he knows full well what his mission was. Even so, I do agree with some of what you say Cools. This has gone on from time immemorial and many women have been prepared to put up with it from their own choice.
The casting couch has always been synonymous with film, etc. so where did it start in the first place ?
I dare say that just like Saville many knew and kept their mouths shut, and I wouldn't mind betting it goes on in many places including the media. When looking at one interviewer the other night on the same subject, I would suggest a certain amount of guilt was gripping that person too. Body language is a dead give away, and for those who said nothing in all areas of such deeds, shame on them . They are as guilty as those they now wish to apprehend..

How many time do we hear on the news of children in care that tell what's being done to them for them to be told you're wrong or you asked for it because you put a boobtube on or your showing too much leg, NO-ONE ASKS TO BE RAPED, that's my rant over

Many actresses used to be quite open about who they had bedded to further their careers or refused as the case may be, litigation has stepped in and it has become a lot more complicated.

I'm never a fan of historic claims, especially where there is compensation involved. Its not a lot different to the pavement trippers, yes there are no doubt genuine cases but the lure of money without any comeback can draw big crowds.

Understood, and those poor kids were not listened to in many cases, as in the cases about kids from homes in Yorkshire and beyond, just recently.
In this instance we are talking about film stars and celebrities, of whom apparently not all were raped from the information coming out, but I imagine all of them were protecting their career path. That is different.

So it becomes inferred blackmail (sexual favours or no career)..... Sounds a conniving serial sexual predator and adulterer..arranging for his Team to conveniently disappear to leave him alone with his intended target. Nice bloke..not.

Times have changed now...thankfully. Although it’s no justification I think there was a culture of ‘oh he’s just a dirty old man’. We know how wrong that is now but back then it was seen as 'acceptable behaviour'.
