Hi has anyone got a old carbon pole that is damaged or has the narrowest piece broken. Our volunteers group is looking for a replacement to use in bird ringing activities . 13 mtrs or longer that obviously comes apart for transport . We can collect anywhere on the wirral
Longer the better as it has to reach into the nest . The nests average about 20 feet up a tree or side of a building . Block the escape route then they can becbe ringed and recorded and returned safely . All done under licence incase anyone is wondering.
thanks pacef8...still none the wiser how you stop a pigeon flying off its nest with a length of carbon less than 5mm diameter ..do you attach a net or something to it and then someone still has to climb a ladder to get to the bird>.will have to look it up on youtube
You say you're looking for a replacement, I can only presume your original one is damaged. If you take it to the Fisherman in Laird street Birkenhead he can repair even the most horrendously damaged sections of a pole.
