Does anyone remember the picture of the Green Eyed Girl, as she was called, from Afghanistan and poster girl on the National Telegraphic Magazine ? There is this article about her today. It was such a penetrating picture, never to be forgotten. Only ten when it was taken and married at thirteen !! We have to wonder if she had lived in a Western/European country, how beautiful she may still have been.
