Here are my all time favourite books to read at Halloween:

1. THE RATS by James Herbert (which is actually my all time fave horror novel).

2. SALEM'S LOT by Stephen King

3. THE FOG by James Herbert

4. THE WOMAN IN BLACK by Susan Hill

5. IT by Stephen King

6. HAUNTED by James Herbert

Im such a wuss I cant read or watch any horror material . My imagination would run wild once its bedtime and the lights go out --and I would lie there thinking the next minute would bring a psycho axe murderer through the wall, or a slimy mass of fanged alien, or a pair of bloodshot firey eyes at the curtain sending burning lasers towards me ! *shudders* ---Good luck with your books though!!!

That's quite a few books to get through in one evening!

Same as you Venice> I remember staying late at my dads one night after putting him to bed (was his carer) and watched a horror movie--hands that have been chopped off still crawling, typically in a shack in a forest. When I left the house I was a wreck looking nervously over my shoulder..trying to convince myself it was only a film.

Think I will print some vouchers for the trick or treaters saying come back and sing me some carols at Christmas and get your treat.

Ha, ha, I know what you mean, venice. The imagination can tend to run riot late at night, especially after you have watched a horror movie. But just remember to keep telling yourself one thing: "It's only a movie . . . It's only a movie . . ."
