Just found some Russian cold war maps of Merseyside from the 70's
It shows all the roads and docks in Russian

The German ones were probably compiled with the help of the Zeppelin "good will visits" being used to map the dock areas and industrial layouts at all the places they visited. My old man remembered seeing the Zeppelin flying right along the line of docks. Can't remember the year.

Should've added that during my time I used to work with maps of Russia written in English. We were all at it.
