tried lots of suggestions off google to no avail. windows 10 has suddenly turned all my files into read only any help would be great. thanks

Hiya, I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 and found I had loads of problems like yours. My solution was to turn it back to Windows 8.1 by going to control panel and deleting Windows 10, it reverts to the original Operating System that you started with..

Folders may show as read only but they are not, you can ignore that.
