Theres a lot of moaning about this on socal media but I think its time to let it go. I will be sad to see the end of it but the place is crumbling. Wilkie can;t make the business work with the increasing costs of maintenance and no one else will either. Its a shadow of what it was anyway. Most of the old fair, that most of us will have happy memories of was demolished years ago. New Brighton is a different place now. Hmmm, sad really, what's going to happen with the old ammunition tunnels underneath I wonder? I cant see them building over it. I would be very surprised if it survives.

Always difficult when a place that has been the source of so much fun for years is taken down but as has been said it is nothing like what it was. The Floral have said for a long time that they need more conferences but there are not enough decent places for attendees to stay. Of course it is quite likely that the proposed hotel will offer conerence facilities anyway.
