Rules :

1) Any theme, any style eg. Poems, Limericks, Raps, Odes, Nursery Rhymes.

2) Each poem/entry MUST have a title (to assist in the voting)

3) As long or as short as one wishes

4) Only ONE entry per session from each member

5) Each entry to be pm'd to Granny, who will then post on the competition page without linked identities

6) Given dates to enter.......followed by one week for voting.

7) Overlapping the voting week, with starting a new session.

8) All voting will be via a 'Poll Box'

Balls of a Ghost


"There once was a man from the coast,
Who received a parcel through the post,
And in it he observed a crystallised turd
And the balls of his grandfather's ghost."

There once was an artist named Saint,
Who swallowed some samples of paint.
All shades of the spectrum
Flowed out of his rectum
With a colourful lack of restraint.

The Old Witch From Mold

There was an old witch from Mold,
Whose broom was incredibly old,
To replenish her broom, and not a day too soon;
Her chin hairs were plaited and rolled.

Was ready for faking
A quick cut and paste
It was soon changed to taste
And winnings were made for the taking

Long Live Wiki !

Wiki's made up of some fabulous folk
Some make you happy , some make you choke!
Passionate members? oh yes theres a number , and
When tempers flare , we set them assunder.
Politics ,racism, benefits and grammar,
There's nothing escapes their verbal hammer.
We are all always right though ,you'll be pleased to know
We say our piece and are good to go.
Where tough issues emerge and heads are in pain,
Enter the one with the large cup brain.
Theres also the one who is everyone's rellie
She's strong on opinions and gives it some welly!

Hidden away in the 'laugh till you're sore'
I need to mention Tom, tubs, sailor and more.
You jokey types bring fun to our gaffs
And we really love the daily laughs
I.T. thickie ? theres help in the forum...
( I'd be there more often but my probs would bore 'em
If your interest's exploring , under and over
Join in with the urbex , and you'll be in clover!

Auto is the section where they drool or despair
But help is at hand with advice on repair.
The drive behind wiki, is Mark the main man
Who's there to help whenever he can .

Yet, couple of good Poems there. Ruined by the Poets identifying themselves.....job cut out there Granny. Good luck.

Betjeman has always been my favourite poet by a long chalk. Subsequent Poet Laureates have come nowhere near his style and observational skills. However, Granny's pointed elbow seems to be knocking him off his winner's pedestal !!

Please let me explain, if people do not understand the rules yet.

Poems in RULE 5 are sent to me. I will post them onto here.

That means that members identities are kept secret until after voting.

Although I am posting them on here, I am not writing them, the other members are.

As you can see; we have been absolutely inundated with forum poets !

Is there any chance that the next week could have a few more to join in, or is this going to be a non-starter ?

My 4 legged friend

Today i feel frail and weak,
The pain keeps me from my sleep.
You would not want me to suffer so,
When the times comes just let me go.


So please don t worry about me,
My spirit feels light as can be.
There is no more pain to plague me,
Am young again and free.

And i will be watching over you still,
of that you can be sure,
I am your canine closest friend,
And my love for you remains pure.

All good things must come to an end,
And today i said goodbye,
To my very best friend.
