Cheers bud. Its good to have a believer. Once ive sorted the old one out this one will begin to take shape. I get new ideas for it every day and just do not know what to do. I could go mad on it,or just give it speed and style which is what im leaning towards. No crazy install just a simple SQ install Simple interior re-trim to be done mainly by me. Seats need a look over as they are pretty girly lookin Brake upgrade Tints ST side stripes are a Go (as westwood would say)

Today i got the following sorted
Insurance renewal-10 month accelerator with elephant costing 900 quid RAC cover costing 16 pound for full cover (thanks MOD discount) Clear side repeaters arrived
Hopefully work will be nice and quiet so I can fit the repeaters, remove the rubstrips, remove the mudflaps and fit the neon in the boot.Try for the under dash ones aswell but not sure if i have any switches spare to turn em on and off(not gonna use dash illumintation as they draw enough current as it is)

The b@stardisation of the 1.6 is due to begin on monday hopefully. Before u start ranting, bear this in mind. What have i got to lose? Its a bigger list than i first planned and it should produce EVEN more power. Hopefully in excess of 100BHP!
1.8 Intake manifold 2.0 Throttle body 1.8 Intake piping and air box (box to be drilled and K&N element fitted 2.0 MAF (u shud see the size of the hole inside, its loads bigger than the 1600)
Leave it after that til the RR day which i will now try my hardest to attend. If im over 105BHP(estimated from wheels) then ill keep the 1.6 thus saving money on insurance and still having a beatuful sounding engine with more potential.
If this does work i will then get an FSE,Full zorst inc decat and possibly manifold. Then maybe CAMs (180 pound if you trade in your old ones(not bad price))and maybe something to sort the fuelling out as i suspect a chip or bluefin at this point could make it run sweet as a nut!
Fingers crossed (very tightly)

Well as long as its more than 90BHP i dont care lol. I assume it will be pushing 85+ now as its a 90BHP engine with 91k on the clock
Also,Fitted the stereo today. Just the heaqd unit for now. The stock speakers are surprisingly tight when pushed to the limit. Ive heard worse from the aftermarket ones when they were in shrek(they were loose when i removed them so they must been wobblin in the door as they were playin lol) Front componenets to go in soon

Aaaaagghhhh the induction noize!! Fitted the 2.0MAF today and shes already developed one hell of a roar. Feels pretty much the same but the noise just begs you to put your foot down. Sounds like a different engine!
Normal driving sounds pretty normal but when you put your foot further and further down it developes a meaty induction noise under load. Im loving it!!
The 1.8 intake manifold 2.0TB and 1.8 intake tract with swiss cheese airbox will be adapted to the car by next monday hopefully! Doing it myself. Got the bits, got the tools, got the knowhow i hope

MAF fitted and workin well ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/803/05aug/cruisewirral15001.jpeg) De-stripped and crystal lenses fitted. Need to polish out some of the remaining glue on the door ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/803/05aug/cruisewirral15002.jpeg) Head unit fitted.Thought itd be good to draw on some of the button so it lit up red and blue instead of green,it looks naff and doesnt even let the light thru, gettin that felt off asap again ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/803/05aug/cruisewirral15003.jpeg)

Scoop, sorry to bring this up again, but its really confusing me how fitting this AFM actually increases power without any changes to the ECU Ive done various AFM changes in the past, and on each occasion needed somesort of managment to change the signal to the ECU. They basically work on the principal of a hotwire, meaning the wire is heated and the air flowing over the wire causes the wire to cool and alters the conduction properties which the ecu measures for fueling. Even if the AFM is a bigger bore, how does it know that the voltage range has been changed (Do you have the Voltage ranges for the 2 AFMs to compair ) Without telling the ECU that the ranges have been changed I cant see anyway that the car can produce anymore power. Not being funny fella, just finding it a little hard to get my head round

The sensor unit fitted to the top is the same one from the old MAF. Heres what i think is happening
The bigger MAF is allowing more air to flow thru into the engine, this is cooling the hot wire more, the ECU is being told this by the sensor and increasing fuel to compensate, it is only ever so slight (and i mean tiny) and there is no noticable difference.............but i bought this cos it was cheap and it deffo increases the induction noise!
Cant wait to get the 1800 in and tune that to the balls. This MAF aint a 2.0 MAF as it turns out. Its bigger than my old one but the 1.8 MAF is bigger than this one. May be from an old ass 1.8 i think
