Hi all
Wondering if you can help me . I play squash at Birkenhead squash club at Birkenhead park rugby club.
They are maybe closing it down soon due to then wanting to create more eating space.
Upon speaking with other members I said that it would be a shame as it's been here so long. To which they said it's not been here that long as it used to be at the top of oxton road and moved to Birkenhead park rugby club when It was knocked down.
Has anyone got any images or information about the original squash club?

Drive down Balls Road to the traffic lights at the junction of Oxton Road and Woodchurch Road, if you looked across, the Squash Club was about 3 doors down on the left, in between Balls road East and Belmont (Road or Grove,can't remember which) not sure, but it might have been part of a gym?

Only went a few times but my mates were always in there on Sundays. Not to play but because you could get a pint there in between opening times on Sundays.
You may be too young to remember pubs closing on Sundays.
There was a lady called Val who ran it (pretty sure this was the case but not 100%).
