http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/city-centre-car-park-operators-8527645The plot was previously turned into a small park by Liverpool council but property firm Langtree, which owns the land, last year ordered the local authority to tear up the grass, trees and paving stones – or fork out £1,000 a week for “occupying” the area.

They're chicken feed compared to Peel Holdings. Can't even walk around our own dockland area to reminisce.

There's some major construction going on by the Hydraulic tower.
Bandycoot, if you walk through the car park of the East Float apartments you can get to the waterside.
And if you drive down to Direct Tyres on East Float you can get to the dock side.

I was in Liverpool recently and just wanted to sit off on the waterfront in the car - I had the option of right at the end (near Garden Festival site), or about 10 miles up the road in Formby, which doesn't have a view of the river.

As far as I'm aware the work on the same side of the road as the hydraulic tower is the college? The opposite side on the corner certainly has nothing to do with Peel.

Peel Holdings haven't even made a proper start on Wirral Waters yet either. This is off topic really, ....... 9 years since Peel Holdings rolled out the plans for Wirral Waters Development. A possible 25,000 jobs and completion in 30 years. That will be 40 years now. Not much point in getting excited, as most of us won't be here or too old to work on it. They need to be building more homes first, as an influx of workers into the area could cause a major problem. Hasn't the so called Chinese Government business woman who dealt with these contracts, turned out to be a 'con' ? No check of her credentials obviously, probably because China would not allow it anyway. So a massive project has been agreed on face value....it would seem !!! Amazing how these business people and council officers who we put in charge of making decision for our benefit and some of which at council tax payers expense, make erroneously bad decisions. They'd never admit to it, would they ? I wonder who will maintain the whole developement.By the time it's finished, it will be so 'old fashioned' they'll probably knock it all down and start again.
