Be back later to see if anyone knows how I can reconnect the laptop, as I say the setting as far as I can see are the same as the one I am using here.

He has removed the Omiga (see earlier post) but is stuck now on proxy settings.

The proxy settings could be a red herring, he also states that according to his display that the computer is now connected and his proxy settings are the same as the one supplied. This would indicate the potential fault of the router not 'seeing' the internet and so the first thing to do would be to reset it by way of a power down cycle - switch off, leave 30 seconds then switch back on.

it may be a firewall setting.
go to the command prompt and enter
ping 8.8.8.8
if you get a reply you are connected but your browser is blocked.

Thanks guys n girls, got it sorted due the help here. Well it gets online with firefox but not IE.
