If you see Japanese knotweed growing are you supposed to do anything with it, contact the council or leave it alone? I think I have seen some growing at the bottom of Marsh Lane close to where it joins Lever Causeway and although there's not much of it at the moment, based on the horror stories I've read I'm concerned about it spreading. If I pulled it up though the question is what would I do with it anyway?

Absolutely do not pull it up, the roots go very deep and surround the area, it can spread from a tiny bit. Report it to the council and see what they say.

I will do Salmon, yes. I've actually never seen it before in real life but judging by photos I've seen online, it certainly looks like it could be the dreaded weed.

There are several large patches on the Red Noses. I reported them to the council and they said they knew about them and were keeping an eye on them. Best to report it.
