I don't think any one could say it was that for sure, but it is the most likely cause, does the leak come from underneath the front panel? the other way to find out is to push the drum back slightly and feel around the inside of the seal for any splits, hope this helps good luck. smile

yes the leak does come from underneath the front panel. at first it was on the left hand side now its moved a little to the middle aswell. so looks like a new seal is needed. if i buy the part do you have a guesstimate how much someone would charge too fit it please?

Quite likely to be the seal and they are easy enough to do yourself.Almost certainly there will be a you tube video to explain how.

Could be the door seal but could be a split in
the rubber pipe down from filler tray into drum
see this on Youtube:-

To be totally honest, its not possible to diagnose a water leak or any other fault by basing findings on other peoples experiences. It really needs an experienced eye. Water will always flow down hill so if your floor has a slope from back to front of your machine the leak could be from the back. This could be anything from a loose grommet to faulty drum bearings. In fairness it may well be the seal, any hole can be found by checking the folds of the seal. It could also be a leaking pump. The list can be long. I spent many years as a white goods engineer and in previous years would have offered to check it out for you but disability has got it the way. If you want the number of a reliable engineer try Neil Davies 0151 201 3001or 07749 471780

what it is i phoned my insurance company this morning who told me am not covered for a broken seal. an if i have to pay an excess it would of been a waste of money if they wouldnt fix it if it was just the seal. the prob i have is if i have to pay for someone to diagnose it which is i dunno 40 quid or so i then have to phone insurance back an pay the excess if it is something am covered for. it could get quite costly an maybe just worth gettin another machine. but if it is just the seal am hoping we can buy that part an hubby could fix using a utube vid its a hard one isnt it

Can you pull machine out to get at rear--this might help diagnose if leak from front or rear. or even the waste pipe spilling a bit if its just hooked into pipe. Recently took a machine completly to pices just to see if bits would sell on ebay (they didnt) but was fun stripping it down. good luck

If you tell Neil his old mate Graham referred you, he will operate a no fix no fee policy assuming he still covers the area you live in and no, I dont get a cut of his fee lol. He is very reasonable and more importantly honest, with a couple of decades of experience. Good luck however you get it sorted.
