This is hilarious! By the way im in the NO corner!
if Nyone here thinks that they are going to provide data for medical research you seriously need to wake up!

I don't have the facts but let me tell you at some point, maybe years maybe decades maybe tomorrow but your data will be sold ( at least once) to the highest bidder, (probably a drugs company) who will then use this data to decide how much of certain drugs they make, what they sell for and how they can turn a bigger profit... That's it!

Depends on several things Moonstar starting with where the firewall is. They havent made it clear whether it would allow ALL NHS employees in , or maybe just some levels etc
Whatever settings/codes etc which may be used , are sure to be at risk from the computer savvy .
Once the Government makes it accessible outside the NHS which is the plan, security is at even greater risk for the same reason.
It will of course be absolutely safe, for the following reasons

1) Humans are not curious
2) All humans are honest and not open to bribery
3 No such thing as computer hackers who love a challenge
4 Insurance companies would hate to know who has genetic heart
problems , drug problems, alcoholism etc
5) Errors are never made in leaving keys, codes, paperwork
accessible to prying eyes.
6) Employers would hate to know who is pregnant, or who is
chronically ill with the potential to be off sick a lot.
7) The Dr (on here) is wrong , drug companies work only for
the good of sick people -
8) We wont be identifiable to ordinary people from records kept
as it restricts itself to only our NHS number and postcode
and we all know it would be useless trying to trace someone
from such tenuous details.

Reference point 7 post above - I meant 'The Computer Lab' not 'The Doctor' sorry.
