The BBC are reporting very strong high tides causing coastal flooding today. High tide for Wirral is around 12.05pm today and 9.52M (a fairly high one). Chances are they'll close New Brighton Prom, but if anyone is free to get up there, there may be some great photo ops. Webcam: http://www.wirralcam.org/newbrighton.shtml

I was down there before the tide came in,me & the dog walked down to the black pearl which has now been washed away.Went & sat in the car park by the boating lake,the prom was floodedthen it started comming into the car park so decided it was time to leave before that flooded,was a spectacular site watching the waves crash over though .

Knew I loved New Brighton.....it was awesome to see the sea as it was today...breathtaking !! Feel for anyone suffering because of it though....did anyone see the ground floor flat in the old Chelsea Reach building ? The double doors had been forced in and the flat was full of debris and water
