Assume it was a jet of some sort going over New Brighton....was so low, fast and loud half expected to hear a huge bang or crash or something....gave me palpitations !!

We hear jet engines quite frequently in sunny Seacombe.I recall somebody saying that the Mersey is good for training as it is similiar in width/length as a river in a war-torn country.

It was an RAF Tornado going through the airport for a low approach and go around. I think they do this to test the ILS or something like that?
