Does anyone know a good place to get an offcut piece of kitchen worktop . I only need plain white but need the older thinner type , not the thick bull nose type, so it might not be so easily located. Used to be a great place near Mill Lane in Wallasy which could have been perfect, but sadly it disappeared

Depends how thick you need it but homebase in upton have them at 28mm thick for 33.49.
