i was born in '89 looooong after the pier had gone but i believe this is where it used to be.
but my question is, other than a fancy seating area, what's this thing???

http://imageshack.us/f/155/photoyz.jpg/ it seems a bit too big or anything to have just been placed there when the pier went, they could have just railed it all off 'square' but obviosly built this 'thing' to go there
it looks like it has air outlets in the top
can anyone give me any more info on it??
