Pablo,
I've got the same postcard "West Kiby looking towards Hoylake", while the wife & I were on a day trip out in the summer to West Kirby with the Grandson I took a similar shot to create a Now & Then photo DipStych, never got around to doing it here's my modern day pic. I'll have a root around for my Postcard and scan it and join together

Yes, if anything the direction is toward the station and hill, the opposite of Hoylake.

Heres one I took the same day of West Kirby Railway Station as we were about to go & catch our train....

Taken fron the other end of The Crescent on Grange Road, turning left from where I took this pic would lead you to Hoylake, 1.4 miles to Hoylake Station.
