There's a shell tanker come off the motorway, M53 just past the Prenton turnoff heading towards Clatterbridge. If you were thinking of going this way I wouldn't. There's a lot of fire appliances heading that way....
It didn't look like anyone else was involved, so fingers crossed the driver is OK.

Just drove past going the other way (on way back from Manchester airport) about an hour ago (11.20am ish). Tanker halfway into ditch, lots of cop cars and fire engines. Traffic backing up rapidly. Tanker presumably empty on its way back to Stanlow to pick up another load, which may have been a blessing. Could have been messy otherwise.
i asked before taking the photos if the driver was ok and was told he walked away ok ,so thats why i have put them on here .road north west done a great job and this was possibly the closet crash to there base they have done ,you could litrally threw a stone from there office and hit the tanker lol
