Silverback, so you dont agree with charities then!! what about help for heroes The military personnel that get butchered and damaged at the behest of governments shouldn't have to rely on charitable donations for their welfare needs. By rattling the tins you are absolving the criminally greedy governments of the need to look after them. Charitable donations, amongst other things, are a stealth tax, enabling the treasury to not need to raise taxes to cover whatever. I agree with what you're saying but unfortunately, if we don't give anything then these causes will totally go without. I think the best way is to give to the causes that need it most AND demand that the government pay more in future. If the rich paid their tax then there wouldn't be the need for most charities...

Wench, so at least you agree it was in a good cause, the road closure lasted 4 hours, never hear people complain about the egg run ( another good cause )

Hell yes Alann! I'm not able to get out much anyway so it didn't affect me really. It's not like it's every weekend so I don't see the problem. My ex's parents live on Melling Road and every year they go through the same when the Grand National is on. They generally either go away that week, leave the house early if they need to go anywhere or stay in. I guess some people just need something to moan about or they're not happy
