haven't had a formal interview before really, even though have/am working for big companys the interviews have always been quick chat, yes you've got the job... so any tips will be appreciatted.. thanks

Have a look at the Next Step website there are some really useful tips for preparing for interviews, the sorts of things to ask, simple things that a lot of people forget such as what NOT to say or wear etc. Well worth a nosy at to see what it recommends.

Just stay cool, keep your answers short but to the point and don't waffle.
I applied via Tranmere Rovers then Birkenhead Job Centre but no response, so presume I am not getting an interview.

Any retail store would want staff to be confident with people, quite bubbly, maybe optimistic in their approach. Come across that way in your interview and you will do well.

Good luck with your interview. thank you.. people are still getting letters now so don't loose hope.. the store doesn't open till 10th October and cashiers etc don't start till end sept..
