Woman's jaw broken as she walks home in Moreton





A WOMAN was left with a fractured jaw after she was attacked on her way home from a night out.

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday on Danger Lane, Moreton.

It is thought the 43-year-old victim had been drinking in the nearby Armchair pub and was making her way home with a friend when she became involved in an argument with a man. The man then assaulted her.

Polcie are now speaking with witnesses in the area and CCTV is also being sought.

Detective Inspector Dave McCaughrean said: "This was a particularly nasty and unprovoked attack on a woman who was on a night out.

"We have traced several witnesses who were in the pub that night, but would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information about it, to get in contact."

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He has since been released on police bail.
