I am looking for a street map showing the houses for the three places in Tranmere.Union Street, Spring Street and Albert Place. I will be most grateful for any help that can be given.
Here are the O.S. maps from 1904/1910. Couldn't get them all on the same page. On the first map, Albert Place is at the top & Union St. at the bottom. On the second, Union St. is just below centre & Spring St. towards bottom right. My father's family was from that area.
Chriskay many thanks its just what i was looking for. Does your OS map show Claradon Street it was off Oxton Road in Birkenhead and could I ask if possible you could let me see it. Many Thanks for the trouble you have gone to.It helps me a lot with my family tree.
Interesting that Union Street has gained a dog-leg since those days.
There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

Hmmm, interesting; wonder why.
Could be a traffic calming measure, the amount of traffic that cut through from Old Chester rd down to New Chester rd is quite heavy, Possibly gives better vision leaving Brougham Ave and Cobden Ave. The dogleg appears mainly where the little housing estate is.
