I beleive it was origonaly frequented by the fire men from the argyle theatre,as the theatres of those days were at great risk of fire

I agree with your perspective and although sadly child cruelty though illegal still exists in this day and age, most people are horrified with it, but there are still a lot of people among us who want to cause suffering to badgers and other animals and actually think it to be normal. We aren't talking about jus thick thugs either, but some very intelligent and organised people. But then I suppose the Nazis were intelligent and well organised too.

I just cannot understand people who who can get any form of enjoyment through either inflicting pain on others; being a person or animal, or watching it for their own 'entertainment', i cant find that to be acceptable, or normal, i abhor any form of cruelty; which is to protect.

In the 19th Century, the law against animal cruelty was actually passed BEFORE the law against child cruelty!!

That doesn't surprise me. Officer's horses were treated better than foot soldiers inthe British Army. Maybe still are.
