Hey guys n girls
I have an old video on a hi8 tape from years ago but no longer have a way to play it. Does anyone have an old hi8 tape convertor or a camera that uses hi8 that I may borrow for an evening?

You may be able to get one at the car boot, seen lots of them ,some nice cameras some really ancient, seen a number of video cameras at Ellesemere tat market yesterday,I threw all my gear away when I got a video camera with a hard drive,I decided that was the time to convert all my old film to cdrom.

I think that was vhs c summer. It was a mini vhs tape that you could put in a fullsize caddy to play in a standard vhs machine. Hi 8 is just a better quality version of 8mm tape. There might be a hi8 to vhs caddy but I've not seen one.

Thanks for the replys! Yes originally I would put the smaller tape into a bigger VHS tape. I moved onto Digital 8 tape rather that hard drive as the quality was better. I'm probably best bringing a tape with me check first Who were when?

It's the same sized type but it's a digital format so it will only work in digital camcorders. The digital camcorders can take Hi8 tapes but they can't be played back in a Hi8 machine. Sorry I couldn't help in the end
