Assuming it's not too cloudy, it'll be out with the deck chair and a nice bottle of plonk.

Stargazers should head to the Midlands, the north of England and north-west Scotland for the best views of the annual Perseids meteor shower tonight.

locally id recommend the big field at royden park, we use this a lot for stargazing due to its high treeline reducing light pollution, the other spot locally thats ok is thrustaston/ caldy hill

The shower happens as the Earth passes through debris from the Swift-Tuttle comet, with around 80 to 100 meteors an hour raining down as the small particles collide with and burn up in the atmosphere.

if i remember correctly from last year they were heading from SE-NW, last years display was excellent and we were seeing more than 1 a minute but we also got to see one mega one that lit up the sky and was about 6 inches long to the eye

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

I was out there at five past one, looked up intently, and got a face full of rain cry
