Graham Sankey charged over alleged attack on Liverpool councillor Joe Anderson GRAHAM Sankey – the man who once confessed to the attack for which Michael Shields was wrongly imprisoned – has been charged over an alleged attack on Liverpool’s Labour leader Joe Anderson.Sankey, 24, of Hillbrook Drive, Walton, was charged with a section 4 public order offence - behaviour likely to cause harrassment, alarm or distress. He was released on conditional bail to reappear at Liverpool Magistrates on November 18. Cllr Anderson was returning home from the Everton match with his son on Saturday evening when he claims he was threatened and abused by two men, before one attacked his car leaving two dents in the roof. If he wanted `to be left alone` after withdrawing his confession, why attack a michael shields supporter? Violence doesn`t clear your name,just adds fuel to the fire. Especially against a `rivals` supporter.

Graham Sankey in court over Joe Anderson harassment claims A MAN will appear in court today accused of harassing the Liverpool Labour leader who spearheaded the campaign to free Michael Shields.
Graham Sankey – who once confessed to the attack for which Michael was wrongly imprisoned – was arrested after an alleged attack on Cllr Joe Anderson.Sankey, 24, of Hillbrook Drive, Walton, was charged with behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was due to appear at North Liverpool's Community Justice Centre this afternoon. Cllr Anderson led the campaign to win justice for Michael after his conviction for the attempted murder of a Bulgarian waiter in 2005. Sankey later withdrew his confession to that attack. THE ECHO
