Was privileged to have met Frank Shaw and Wally Arnold (Stoker Arnold as was). Also used to know Percy Farley, who was a survivor off the "Poseidon" which was sunk in the Far East(1935 I think) after surfacing under a Chinese freighter. He lived out Hooton way. Recent controversy as the Chinese are reckoned to have raised the Poseidon in 1974 without informing British authorities. MoD wants to know what happened to the remains of those left on board. Also not so well know is that Wally Arnold actually assisted in removing the bodies of his shipmates and the dockyard maties from the Thetis when she was beached. What a brave man.
