All thse new penalties. should just go back to 10pm closing and no alcohol to be sold in shops or supermarkets after that same time of a night. Come back the good old 1950s.

I'm not sure it's the hours that need changing, I think it's the attitude that you have to get hammered to have a good time and the fact that people (mainly young males, but increasingly females) tend to get very "silly" when they have a skin full. I rarely drink, and when I do, I tend to remember everything and do not get violent or "silly" (there are those that would say I'm silly to start with, not mentioning any names ) Stuy, MissG, Scott et al. I get merry, but very very rarely drunk. Unfortunately, neither the opening hours nor attitudes to drink look like they will change in the foreseeable future

A great excuse for getting out of paying for that last round if ever I heard one
