The Morpeth buildings were definitly in Wood St, Ducko just got the title wrong, looking at the photo, Brook St was the next street along to the left. The houses you see on the left of the photo shared the entry with the houses in Brook St
God help us, Come yourself, Don't send Jesus, This is no place for children.
The photo is the part of Wood st that was the other side of Watson St, from the part of Wood st thats there now, Morpeth buildings backed on to Irving Little, the paint and paper place in Cleveland St, The shop is still there but probably under a different name. Not sure when the photo was taken, it was still like that in 1957, i think they came down , not long after.
