Decided to change my phone supplier yesterday to Sky, along with getting Sky TV and broadband in a package that would cost about the same as BT where charging me for the pohne and Broadband. Sorted the Sky package out online and called BT for my MAC code. BT Then told me I had another 6 months left on my 18 month contract!!! What happened was last December I upgraded my BB to an unlimited download limit, and as an existing customer upgrading I should have been signed up to the min 12 month contract. However, BT, without my request signed me up for BT Vision and sent me a load of hardware and took money from my account!!! After many calls I finally got a refund, and sent the hardware back, but it appears they signed me up on a new customer, 18 month contract and didnt correct that to 12 months when I got my refund and sent the boxes back ...gotta call BT and give them some shit today now Ive sussed out where they have gone wrong...

Utterly fooking useless!!! ...so I left them some feedback... Utterly useless! In Dec 2007 I upgraded my broadband service. Without my authorisation I was sent Vision hardware and debited for the service! EVENTUALLY I got a refund for the vision service which was something I didnt order.
Im now in the process of changing supplier and have found out that I appear to be on an 18 month contract. I belive I should have been on an Existing Customer Upgrade - 12 month contract, not the 18 month new user contract, which I can only assume I was signed up for with the BT Vision which I didnt request.
No one at any help desk seems to appreciate this mix up, and "recorded calls" seem to be conveniently unavailable to prove I did agreee to an 18 month contract.
During my time with BT Ive had many problems, from poor broadband performance, to dropped lines during calls to help desks, and Ive now lost total faith in your ability to supply and support the service, let alone trust you to take the correct payments and setup the service level I require.
Needless to say I will not recommend this service (I work in the Telecoms Industry) and I will be terminating all services with you as soon as possible - that is unless you extend another contract, or take more payments without my consent.
Im not surprised Bob Hoskins isnt finding that "its good to talk" anymore!

I signed up to BT to get a phone line connected (because that's how it works), and then immediately signed over to Sky. If you cancel with BT within two weeks, the contract is cancelled. Sky said they would take care of cancelling it.
Two months later, I get a bill off BT for 160 quid saying you haven't paid us money, you can't cancel now, you have to run the course of the contract. Sky FORGOT to cancel BT. I luckily kept all documentation and have letters from within the 2 week cancellation period. Sent these off to Sky. 6 months later, they have yet to do anything, and a bailiff is now handling this for BT.
AWESOME!
The best thing to do is just stay away from ANY contract, I will never sign a bit of paper ever again.

Sky are just as useless as BT.
I threatened to get trading standards on to them for misselling me my initial contract, luckily they magically agreed with me and gave me the deal i wanted. barstard
