Here's another long gone shop. This was the main shop of the Birkenhead Co-operative Society in Grange Rd. It was called Tudor House. The newer looking part on the right is where TKmaxx is now, corner of St.John St.

TK Max/JD sports/JJB sports was Co-op LIVING Department Store, it was huge.

I remember "Shoppers World"

An Index type place in Moreton

Who remembers Tandy which then became Radio Shack, I know there was one in Liscard where Carphone Warehouse is now.

Carphone Warehouse purchased most of the Tandy store's when Radio Shack ditched the brand in 2000.

Joe; my apologies. Bernards is opposite where the Post Office used to be. Trouble is, when I remember it, that was Morton's bookshop & the Post Office was further down, nearly at Charing Cross. The street with Bernard's on the corner is Barton St., now turned into a car park with Windsor St. which is the next one uphill, with the pub on the corner.

Has anyone got any pics of birkenhead before the Pryamids where there?
