Christ watch out Joe will be Tack Welding everything lol
You probably know but try and turn it down to the lowest
setting, for metal as thin as your joe.

You don't want to be burning bigger holes.

glad to see it coming along, I wouldnt go atacking the car with an arc welder your either going to blow holes in it or its going to look like pigeon dropings. honestly your better of with a mig to learn with much easier and the wire will feed into the weld automaticaly. with a stick if you let the gap between the rod and metal get to big it will blow a hole. If you want a neat weld I would go for the tig. I know mig and tig welders are more expensive but using an arc is going to leave poor results. Only my oppinion try it but am sure you will realise. Arc gives nice welds when welding heavy gauge material such as pipe work etc

cheers peeps, I'm having a few problems with it atm (probably cas im shite) so will start a topic for advice smile

Anywho, a bit more done today, but still not running as the fishhead who I bought my flexible exhaust off did have the size I wanted, so he sent out some slightly larger in diameter for the same price, but it didn't get here before the weekend frown oh well.

Fitted the water pump, injector rail, alternator, cambelt covers, aux pulleys and belts and put my radiator in place. Also fitted new rocker cover gasket and bolted it down. Just got to figure out where a few pipes go now smile

spent more time at my garage today, but got pretty much shit all done frown

the flexi exhaust that I bought is the wrong size as the fishead didnt have the size I wanted in stock so he sent a larger diameter one - so exhaust still not done.

I did get my decat pipe fitted though, and tomorrow I'll fix the duplex part of the exhaust on even with the hold in the boot for now, I just won't use the boot to support it.

went to fit my dizzy cap and snapped a plastic casing in the process, so will have to order a new one from BMW smack

Went to fit my new HT leads and theres a sensor on the 4th cylinder lead, which has damaged when it was running. So I will have to order a new one from BMW, but it seems impossible to fit without cutting the ends off the HT leads, so im sorta stuck about that one....if anyone has any knowledge of that? learn

I did get my hoses all fitted though, so all the intake side is fitted minus the induction kit.

Got my battery down there all charged up, got some 10-40 oil, coolant and water too, so I'm hoping next weekend might be the big startup - fingers crossed!

2 pics of the sensor, there is no way of splitting it in 2 to remove it off the lead.
