Sky One is to show coverage of the initial stages of the Champions League for the first time.
Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Rangers and Celtic have all qualified for the group stages. A match featuring one of the British teams will be shown on Wednesday nights during the group stages.
The first game on Sky One will be Rangers v Stuttgart on September 19, which will also be available on Sky One HD in high definition.
Sky Sports will air the other two Wednesday matches, with Sky digital viewers able to view all eight games via the interactive red button service. Coverage of further rounds will be considered if any of the British teams are successful in getting to the next rounds of the competition.

It makes sense from a ratings and advertising revenue stance, but they should just launch Sky Sports 4 and make Sky Sports Xtra a free channel to people who take the entertainment or News
channel packs, for any events like this that they don't want to charge people for.
