Does anyone remember a hardware store in Wallasey Village in the
60's
It was run by Vic and Elsie Warmington and they lived on
Leasowe Rd. He was a large jovial character, formerly a
policeman.

I have no memories of the store myself.

Some info that may be useful,

The store was 283 Wallasey Village, in 1938 Vic and Elsie lived at 22 Norville Rd and his occupation is shown as Police Constable.

Vic married Elsie Evans, 1933, Liverpool.

Auntie Elsie.

Would it be possible to ask if this photo is still available? it wont let me view it

Recently my dad has been talking about his extended family he had a lot of aunts and uncles. Never really knew alot about them. He mentioned he had an uncle (paternal side) who was a policeman in Liverpool, my dad was very young when he was in the force, then lived in Wallasey with his aunt Elsie. Been having a look online to see if i could find anything and came across this messageboard. It seems to tie up with your post and I'm wondering if its the same people!
We are based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. My dads family (Warmington) came from Nuneaton , Warwickshire.

You have to have a paid subscription to view the photo.

Mentioned previously, Victor Warmington married Elsie Evans, 1933, Liverpool.

Victor was the son of William George Warmington and Eliza Jane, nee, Champ, married, 1891, Shipston.

Victor was born, 8 May, 1902, Brailes, Warwickshire.

In 1921, Victor was living in Toxteth, Liverpool, with Joseph Savage and his wife, Fanny Eliza, nee Warmington, recorded as Nephew. Joseph Savage was a Policeman and no doubt Victor followed later in his footsteps.
